Tulsa From Turkey Mountain

On scene at 8:00 a.m. and painted this one today.
It's an 8 x 10 oil on MDF board. I also managed
to squeak in another small 5 x 7 painting looking
the other way. It's a distant view of Jones Airport but
it didn't turn out very well, so I won't be posting
that one. I'm not that brave. We all have those
"clunkers" now and then.

Gil - the light in this is gorgeous! Bravo to you for getting this scene down just right.

Thank you, Celeste. For some reason, when I got back to the house with this one, the more it dried, the darker it got and I had to go back and touch up some of the lighter areas...seems as though enough odorless thinner was in the paint to break down the pigments. Should have used the Liquin or linseed oil to thin. Just when I thought I knew how to paint. I HATE going back and punching up color. That's the nice thing about acrylics.

Gil, it was a real pleasure to meet you today. I still love this one ("Tulsa From Turkey Mountain"), but "Just Over the Line" is equally excellent. Keep up the good work!
